Wellness Wednesday – 7/13/16

Happy Wedensday everyone! 

Here’s a quick update of my wellness track I hope you enjoy

Pokemon Go – I have to tell you I got suckered into playing this by the other players in Stepbet.  They kept posting pics of the guys they had caught and I figured – why not? I’m not really into Zombie Run or some of the other apps so why not chase Pokemon around. It is hilarious to see people walking through the office or down the street – you can tell who they are, trying to catch a Pokemon, we even had a little alert in our neighborhood to not be concerned by those coming around looking down at the phones – they’re just playing Pokemon Go!

Step bet – Last week I mentioned I’m in the home stretch of my latest step bet challenge. This has been awesome for me the last few rounds – It really forces me to get up and move, especially on the days I have no interest in doing anything – mostly because I’m cheap and I don’t want to be out the money for the bet.  So of course I’m already looking for the next one and I think you should join me!  Click the link here to get setup.  Maybe if we get enough interest I’ll start one of my own on the next round.  

Mindful Meditation – I will admit I’m a few days behind on this app, I really need to get my schedule toghether to make sure I have time to do all the things I want.  I have a half hour blocked this afternoon to start my first one.


Diet Bet – I swear I’m the only person that gains weight on these games, I’m not going to beat myself up to hard on this at the moment, last week there were a lot of Birthday celebrations and good eating was definitely a must.


Fit Girls Detox – lastly I just started back up on the Fit Girls wagon, yesterday was supposed to be my first day, but I was home sick and I’m calling it a wash.  Today has been good so far, breakfast and lunch have been tasty 🙂 Tonight we try Salmon for the first time (wish us luck)

Wellness Wednesday – 7/6/16

Happy Wednesday to everyone! And Happy Birthday to me!  (Subtle hint to wish me well :))

I am in the process of updating my blog, albeit very slowly at the moment, so I apologize in advance as thing move into flux for the next week or two.  Did I mention it would be a slow process 🙂

Sleep Apna – I wanted to give a quick update, I went to the doc yesterday and they downloaded my new numbers based on the CPAP machine……I wen’t from 89.6 (meaning I stop breathing approximately every 45 seconds) to 1.7 meaning I hiccuped twice a night on average.  Let’s just say my doctor was very pleased and so am I.  I still have to get used to the mask but it really is amazing how well it’s working.  Now hopefully I will feel less sleepy soon, he said it could take up to a few months to feel rested and normal again. And it’s not that I feel tired all day long like I used to, but I still feel like I need more sleep when I wake up in the morning, which means I oversleep and then I’m doing my makeup in the office again. 😦

Step Bet – have you heard of this app?  It’s been awesome for me the last few weeks!  I was in a Beta trial in February, and decided to try it it again, I’m in week 5 of 6 on this new bet and going strong.  If your interested in joining, I highly suggest it. Which moves me to……

Diet Bet – Another app by the same makers, I did one around the holidays to keep me honest with my snacking and it worked well.  So now that I’m feeling better and getting good sleep, I thought it would be a good time to try to lose a little bit of weight.  See if it starts coming off the way it should, now that I’m getting active REM sleep for long periods of time.  If you’re interested in joining me this round here is the info on the game I joined: Fitbit Fanatics July Challenge w/ Dietbet Jen  It’s a DietBet where you bet $25 that you can lose 4% of your weight in 4 weeks. Meditation – before life got me down, or the Sleep Apnea (I’m not sure which – lol) I would get up early in the morning for yoga and meditation.  Next week I start my journey anew, and am looking forward to a guided meditation with the Chopra Foundation.  There is a free program, which I is awesome if you’ve ever had to to pay for one of them, this new one coming up is based on getting yourself “unstuck” which seems perfect for me right now.  If your interested in attending this 21 day session you can sign up here.
