Sephora Haul/First Impression

I had a little too much fun at Sephora over the weekend, we went in to get the teenagers Makeup done for prom – one of the many perks of being a Rouge patron – not having to pay for having your makeup done.  While I was waiting I got a mini skin care update and makeover – I mentioned I was in the market for a new foundation and color for the summer and as always the ladies at Sephora are happy to oblige.

I walked away with a few things (my snapchat followers saw the full haul) but today I wanted to focus specifically on the new foundation and pressed powder, and give my first impressions.

Foundation – Amore Pacific – Color control cushion compact – #204 – light/medium yellow – I have to tell you I knew nothing about this line when I walked in, but it was another cushion foundation and I love the formulation and the SPF most cushions give. I did not realize when I picked this up it only comes in a few colors and none very deep.  I guess I just lucked out that they had a shade that worked for me. I do love that they offer up in either a pink or yellow undertone – I tend to have issues with that from time to time.

First impression: this is a great cushion foundation – it goes on with sheer to medium coverage and sets rather quickly, I hate that sticky feeling some foundations leave you with even toward the middle of the day.  The coverage is long lasting, and so far has not faded on me.  I did notice on a few of the websites I checked today to get some background info, a complaint on the smell – I personally didn’t notice but will make a point to check again when I get home.

Powder – Algenist – Color correcting Finish – This is my first foray in to any of the Algenist products and was really impressed by the color correction or Blur effect in the store.  We used it on my moms hand over a scar and we’re very impressed with the powder softening out the lines and evening out the color.

First impression – I think this will be another win – again while it’s my first time using the brand I’ve seen lots of good reviews and word of mouth referrals. I’m not sure how much it correct the color but I like the pink undertone for beneath the eyes and so far I haven’t seen any flashback when taking pictures.

I will keep testing out the products and report back in a few weeks if they’re still keepers.  In the mean time – didn’t they do a great job on my daughter Makeup?

Thank you so very much Sephora in Novato, CA. Francesca had a wonderful night.

XOXO – Sarah
