Sephora Haul

Man I had a little bit of fun at Sephora last week, I’ve been trying to wait to put this post together before I opened all of the products, but, that hasn’t happened so I’m not 100% sure this is all I got or if there was more and it’s moved into rotation.  Plus the bag I was holding everything in, I ended up adding stuff from an Ulta trip so……there you have it, I’m a beauty nut.

Let’s talk about what I picked up and why:)

First up Benefit’s Life’s little corrector palate. I love benefit products, and I’ve used a few of these over my makeup lifespan, to have them all in one box or 3 little boxes is awesome, I’ve been using the eye bright under my eyes – I’m not getting enough sleep at the moment, and I’ve used lemon aid as a primer and shadow for years. To accompany my purchase, of course I couln’t pass up the marketing with  Beauty blender’s minis – I love the larger version although I picked up the nude blender the last time and I’m not a huge fan – I’ll head back to pink on my next round.

Next up – my lip obsession continues – if you want to read part one or part two.  I was so excited to pick up these two colors I’ve been drooling over them for a few months but they’ve been sold out every time I’ve gone in.  This time I was luck and grabbed both.  Anastasia Beverly Hills – Pure Hollywood this is an awesome nude (the left swatch on my arm) the formulation is great (I talk about it in depth in my Lipstick obsession – part two post), an all around awesome lipstick. Next up Kat Von D – Liquid Lipstick – Lolita, this is the perfect browny mauve, without being too vampy or nude (swatch on the right) I wore it to dinner Saturday night and was nicely surprised to find it still long wearing after we ate and well into the evening.  Last up for the lips is a game changer for me Murad’s rapid collagen infusion for lips – oh my goodness, after taking a few picks last week for my lipstick post, I happened across a Snapchat from Dress Your Face – she was talking about using the product and then showed how well it worked.  Let’s just say I almost knocked down the door to buy this alone.  It really makes a huge difference in the texture of of your lips.

Lastly let’s talk about my point samples – which now that I look at them I think I got them in an order but whatever, Sephora is Sephora right.  I have to say I have not tried anything from the Tarte sample box, I just haven’t had the time recently to give it a proper once over.  But I did use the Stila foundation this weekend.  It was OK – I really want to like Serum foundations but I think I might be of too mature skin age to really enjoy it.  On top of that the color choice was not the best for me, I used the light but it was too light for my skin and the medium would have been too pink.  I’m hoping for better luck with the Tarte foundation and will report back to you on it.

On a final note I did pick up some samples, a Dewy Skin mist from Tatcha (I keep forgetting to try) and a new mitt from St. Tropez, those are in the works or in the case of the mitt rather a non starter and I don’t have much info on them yet.  But you know what that means…. More to come.

XOXO – Sarah
