Lipstick Obsession – Part 2

Happy Tuesday Everyone – and Happy April – Oh. My goodness can you believe we’re in the 2nd quarter of the year already?

Last week I started a new series about my lipstick collection, you can read part one Here,  I have to make a confession before we get too far.  I’ve already failed at not buying any new – I picked up 3 new colors at Ulta the other day, I know I know. I promise I’ll try to be better.

Here is the line up for last week – I had 6 colors to choose from and quite honestly I only used 5 – I did not get to my favorite Mac lipstick, I got caught up in cover girls Caramel, and from my pictures I forgot to take one of the Nyx Butter lipstick. Sorry 😦

From left to right:

Covergirl #235 Champagne, Mac Creamsheen in Japanese Maple, Covergirl Oh Shuger in Caramel, Butter London lippy in Tea with the queen, Nyx Butter Lipstick in Sandy Kiss, Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipstics in Hollywood Hills and I ended up swapping out the lip liner (this pencil was too old)  To my Mac Pro Longwear liner Staunchly Stylish.

I have to mention it was a little harder than I expected to wear nudes all week, I even cheated and wore a color to dinner on Saturday night just because I was so tired of a nude lip.  I always thought it was my go to and it may be what I grab in a pinch but, I do like my color.  This week product wise I was not disappointed with my choices, All of the colors went on well, and wore beautifully.

Covergirl – Champagne – this is a little pinker on than what shows in the tube, other than that the formula lasted through coffee with a slight touch up before and after lunch and one before I went home.  It’s got a nice creamy texture and is a perfect pink nude for spring.

Covergirl – Oh Sugar! – Caramel- this was my favorite of the week – more than likely because it was a balm – I always find I need to balance my liquid lipstick with a few balms and real buttery lipsticks to keep my lips happy on a regular basis.  This formula did not disappoint and I came back to it more than a few times over the day just because I liked the texture on my lips. If I had to take one of thes products to a desert island with me, this would be the one I would take.

Anastasia Beverly Hills – Liquid Lipstick in Pure Hollywood – Oh how this product lasts and and lasts.  I put this on once in the morning, once after lunch and once before we went out to dinner.  I did have to add a little balm in between because my lips felt dry – they didn’t look it though, and for those that have concerns about liquid lipsticks pilling – this color did not!  It will definitely be in my rotation over and over – especially on those days I need a nice long wearing matte color

Butter London – Lippy  – Tea with the he Queen.   I got a four pack of thes lippy’s in my Holiday Pop Sugar box, I remember swatching them and promptly putting them in my drawer and forgetting about them.  I’m so sorry I did, this was a really nice glossy lip that had great staying power and a formula that was buttery on the lip but not sticky. I did have to reapply more often with this color but no more so than with the Covergirl lipstick.

Nyx – Butter lipstick in Sandy kiss – I wore this Saturday and for some reason ran out of the house without taking a pic.  This is your basic nudy pink lipstick – I love Nxy’s butter forumla in their lipsticks – their glosses are a little much for me at my age. The butter lipstick has just enough sheen without being overtly shiny and the nude pink color really adds to the understated look.

All in all this week I didn’t have any duds that will be sent to the farm, and I will make sure the next set will be a good mix of both nudes and colors to keep me occupied.

What’s your favorite nude lip?

XOXO – Sarah
