Curvy Girl Style – Fall Capsule Wardrobe Recap

Happy Monday,

Wow! I can not believe it has already been three months since the beginning of this capsule wardrobe! Or that I’m starting my winer wardrobe today.  I have learned so much the last few months about me, about my personal style and about my shopping habits I think I could fill a book.  For now I’ll just give you the highlights.

I’m a stats girl, I love numbers that give me a definitive answer, so here’s the stats on my fall capsule

Days in the wardrobe: 91

# of tops: 20

# of bottoms: 12

# of shoes: 11

# of dresses: 2

# of coats: 2

Total item count: 47

# of different outfits: 49

most # of times an outfit was worn: 3

items never logged on calendar: 4

So what key items did I learn?

1. I still “over-packed” – I had items that I never wore during the capsule and items I realized very quickly I didn’t like after wearing them once.

2.  It is far easier to get dressed in the morning, once I trusted my style choices I could grab for an outfit with my eyes closed.

3.  Shopping was really hard to give up, and I realized I substituted beauty products for clothes so guess what’s getting capped in the winter capsule!

All in all, I really didn’t have a problem with feeling like I didn’t have anything to wear, and really only once did I feel like I had made a bad “style” choice with an outfit.  As I look forward to my next capsule,  I’m a little worried now that I’ve made my purchases that I may have gone too casual.  I really got into the idea of comfort for winter and may have tipped over the edge of comfort into “sloppy” I hope not but time will tell.
