Wednesday Weigh in

Well I finally did it! It was a truly terrifying experience as I walked into the room, I pulled out the balance board and switched the TV to the right input – why is that always so hard to find? Then I found out that not only had the batteries died in the remote but in the platform as well (sigh) 15 minutes later after looking for new batteries, finally stealing a few dead ones from the counter recycling Jar, I was back on track and on to weighing myself after 4 weeks of blissful oblivion. My Wii person gave me a dirty look for not checking in for too many days to count and wanted to go through a full body test! I gracefully declined and moved on to the scale – Do you ever wonder why they show your BMI first on Wii Fit? I do, I try to calculate what that is in pounds before I even make it to the next screen, then it never really tells you what you weigh, it’s either a gain or a loss from the last weigh in. If you really want to know you have to go to your graph and hover over the dot. Anyhoo – I got on the scale last night and weighed myself, it was really nerve racking and I have to say that I was really looking for an excuse to call it a night – I was having one of those days. On the upside – I did loose some weight, even as I say that the little guy in my head is screaming – not enough! But he’s a jerk and I try not to listen to him all that often.

So where do we go from here?

I don’t know, I really like the idea of only getting on the scale once a month, but it does come with downsides, not knowing where you’re really at, not adjusting your calorie count since you don’t know where you are, and it does give me wiggle room for cheating at the onset since I’ve got 28 days to work it off.

Going back to every week though – I feel that might be dangerous as well, I feel that I was sabotaging myself with that cycle and don’t want to lose the momentum I’ve gained.

I think I’ll split it to every other week for a little while, my cousin is going to start another challenge soon and that will force me back on a weekly schedule anyway. I say this also because we’re heading out of town next week and I don’t really want to watch my calories that closely while I’m gone. I mean really I didn’t get these curves for nothing.

With that said I will have a new exercise plan in place next Wednesday and I’m going to post progress photos tonight.

How is your weight loss journey?
